Wedding
Basics: Get your act together
Getting
married can be overwhelming so if you follow a few simple rules
or guidelines, things can go smoother than you thought.
Buy
a notepad and write down everything to do with your wedding ceremony
plans. Guests & suppliers phone numbers or email addresses,
any wedding tips you've heard from friends or work mates, wedding
supplier details. Keep your notepad by your side always. If you
think of something or someone you need to find further information
about, write it down or you will forget.
Buy a folder with separate compartments to store all the information
you have obtained, label each section/category (flowers suppliers,
church location, ideas, accommodation, and so on) then, if you see
a picture of some flowers that you like, rip it out of that glossy
magazine and put it in your folder under the correct category for
later.
Some computer software can be excellent to keep track of who's buying
what, guest names, who has reserved their place at your big day,
menu selections, who sits where and much more.
Keep
a main "To Do List" of all the tasks that need to be done.
Then, break down your To-Do-List into weekly or daily lists, follow
it and add to it as often as you need to. This will help you be
more productive by working on a few tasks at a time and also reducing
some of the over whelming feelings.
Keep
a wedding calendar containing all your appointments with suppliers
and deadlines required by your suppliers. Don't forget to include
your own deadlines too, like when to have the photographer of your
choice booked and when to send out those wedding invites. |
